not a retreat. a residency.

A temporary home for making, moving, eating, exploring and connecting at a slower rhythm.

Your hosts

hi. Ceci & Jack.

Ceci & Jack — your hosts at Casa Colectiva Your hosts · Casa Colectiva
A couple, not a brand

Ceci & Jack.

We're Ceci & Jack — a couple who built Casa Colectiva as the residency we always wished existed. Between us: a decade living between Morocco and Europe, a standing invitation from half of Essaouira's creative quarter, and a belief that the best ideas arrive mid-meal or mid-wander. You'll meet us the moment you land and keep meeting us across every ritual of the week.

  • Cultural programming + artist relationships
  • Workshops, movement mornings & craft sessions
  • Casa Table dinners curated in our own home
  • Ten years between Morocco and Europe
Cannot recommend this experience enough, Essaouira is a beautiful place filled with the most wonderful people, art, food, and sights to see. Ceci and Jack being your hosts is the cherry on top.

Thank you for the joy, thank you for the love, thank you for the enthusiasm of showing one place and the intention that you have of connecting with the territory has been really, really inspiring.

Common questions

before you book.

  1. 01 Why Blue Hour?
In Essaouira, blue hour is the shift between day and night: softer light, slower streets, shared tables, unfinished thoughts. This chapter is built around that: making, moving and reconnecting without pressure.
  2. 02 What you leave with
A handmade object. A collective zine. Field notes from Essaouira. New creative references. A slower rhythm. A small group of people you actually know. A city you met through its makers, not just its monuments.
  3. 03 What's included in the price?
Five days in a private riad, all breakfasts, most dinners (Casa Table, listening-party, riad nights), all workshops and rituals, horse ride, and airport transfer on the final day. Flights and two lunches are not included.
  4. 04 Do I need to be creative or artistic?
No. We've hosted designers, writers, engineers, teachers and people who wanted something different. Curiosity is the only prerequisite — workshops are designed so total beginners and seasoned makers both leave with something they love.
  5. 05 I'm coming solo. Will it be awkward?
68% of past residents came solo. The group gels over the first dinner. Shared rooms pair same-gender by default; singles are available for private space. Most solo guests leave with a few friends for life.
  6. 06 What's the accommodation like?
A private riad in Essaouira's medina — traditional courtyard house with a rooftop, a kitchen used daily, and rooms opening onto the central light well. Shared rooms are twins (never bunks). Singles are fully private.
  7. 07 How do I get to Essaouira?
Fly into Essaouira-Mogador (ESU) direct from London, Paris, Brussels and other EU cities, or via Marrakech (RAK) with a 2.5-hour transfer we can arrange. We'll share detailed arrival logistics once you've reserved.
  8. 08 What does "hold your room" mean?
"Hold your room" means you're telling us which Casa date and room type you're interested in. No payment is taken at this stage — it helps us understand demand, plan room allocations, and follow up with you properly. Your booking is only confirmed once we send you a deposit link and your deposit has been paid.
  9. 09 When will I hear back after holding a room?
You'll receive an automatic confirmation email straight away. We'll then follow up personally within 48 hours through your preferred contact method.
  10. 10 What happens after I pay the deposit?
Once your deposit is paid, your place is confirmed. We'll then send you more detailed travel notes, arrival guidance, payment balance information and anything you need to prepare for Casa.
  11. 11 What's the cancellation policy?
Full refund up to 10 days before arrival, less a £20 admin fee and any non-refundable transaction fees. Within 10 days of arrival, your booking becomes non-refundable but is transferable to another guest at no extra cost. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
  12. 12 Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Klarna Pay in 3 splits the total into three interest-free payments over 60 days at checkout. We also accept card and PayPal in full. Otherwise, pick 'Other ways to pay' — we'll hold your spot for 3 days while you send a 40% bank-transfer deposit, and invoice the balance 10 days before arrival.
